Imagine that the Neandertals had invented fire...
BUT: they got a patent on it and to avoid copyright infringements, they also kept "how they did it" secret.
They became extinct and with them the knowledge of fire - which lead to extinction of homo sapiens sapiens, too.
what a great world, huh?
