Ok. I've had enough - I just can't understand those electronics/software-using people out there anymore:
1) They want to share music.
Yet they buy players which implement copy protection.
2) They want to watch videos.
Yet they buy operating systems / hardware players which implement region code protection.
3) They want to share ideas.
Yet they use file formats for exchanging them which are not open and thus not accessible for everyone.
4) They nag that they haven't got enough money.
Yet they support companies which force them to upgrade their equipment more often than necessary - and are not even willing to take a look at free alternatives.
5) They are sick of random behavior of computer programs.
Yet they are not even looking at existing alternatives which could be configured to make them WORK perfectly within the environment they are used in.
6) They are scared of viruses, worms and trojans.
Yet they prefer an operating system that opens every door to such things - and sometimes the vendor won't even provide a fix for some security holes withing reasonable time, just because the economic demand is not high enough. They rather buy anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, anti-anything programs which consume their system resources - instead of asking themselves: Any other approach??
7) They are sick of being ripped off by money-driven businessmen.
Yet they buy software/appliances which bind them to some vendor, so that they are forced to comply with whatever rules are applied - even forced to change running systems although that wouldn't be necessary
8) They would never agree with giving away their physical freedom - or freedom of choice.
Yet they are throwing away their personal freedom and the right to perform this freedom every day, by supporting (=using) closed, proprietary protocols, file formats, etc... Further locking themselves in with every .doc file sent, and every Skype call made.
9) They want to be treated like grown up adults.
Yet they prefer applications that treat them like they were placed under disability. Devices with more than one button are considered to be "unusable", but still they demand super-hyper-functionality - without added complexity??
10) They don't want to know things they use everday.
Yet they also won't take advice from others which DO KNOW how those things they're using are supposed to work. Others, which spend hours, days, years of their lives working, playing with those things.
....For some unknown reason most "users" (software / hardware) out there don't seem to accept ALL inconveniences and "not-possibles" currently present in "well known" systems - But they complain about EVERY little, itzy-bitzy malcolored pixel in alternatives.
I'm sick of it.
Sick of explaining.
