I'm currently trying to configure a CollectiveAccess Providence installation in such a way, that the institution can keep their desired folder structure. Usually, CA puts all uploaded media files in its own (default) folder structure in "media/collectiveaccess" - by default, as subfolder of the CA providence installation.
I'll try to document here my findings and instructions on how to modify and configure the media paths throughout CollectiveAccess.
NOTE: This is still unfinished, work in progress!
1) Find files that contain media-path relevant code:
The variable for the media url/path is called "<ca_media_root_dir>" in CA's config files.
2) Basic config file:
The basic configuration file for media locations is "app/conf/media_volumes.conf"
CA: Changing media location paths
Re: CA: Changing media location paths
I've created a thread on CollectiveAccess forums about this, titled "Configure custom media folder/filename layout".
The reply from one of CA's maintainers was:
Still, it should be possible when exporting the data though, but I haven't verified that yet.
The reply from one of CA's maintainers was:
Very unfortunate, but I'll live with it for the moment. This is not possible right now. You don't want to access or modify the media files in that directory directly anyway. CollectiveAccess manages media for you.
Still, it should be possible when exporting the data though, but I haven't verified that yet.
