Debian/Ubuntu: Enable disable startup scripts (init.d)

I'm pretty sure I've written this down already in the past, but I can't find it - and I always forget which commands provide a "GUI" (text-based ) for viewing/enabling/disabling which startup-scripts (from /etc/init.d) are started/stopped in which runlevel. This information applies more to the "old" (SystemV) way of things rather than the "new" systemctl-way of doing it.
