Ardour3: frequency scaling warning

Post by ^rooker »

[PROBLEM]
I was about to tryout the brand-new Ardour3 (beta2), when its installer confronted me with a warning about that my CPU uses frequency scaling:
System failed the quick sanity check... Looking for the cause

!!! WARNING !!! - Your system seems to use frequency scaling.
This can have a serious impact on audio latency. You have two choices:
(1) turn it off, e.g. by chosing the 'performance' governor.
(2) Use the HPET clocksource by passing "-c h" to JACK
(this second option only works on relatively recent computers)
As I'm using "qjackctl" for handling JACK, I'm now looking for a way to tell qjackctl to use this extra option. Hm...
Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!
