I tried to mount a windows share over Samba (using /etc/fstab), but got the following error message:
Checking dmesg returned the following:mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on \\windowsbox\shared,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
(for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
need a /sbin/mount.<type> helper program)
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
All credentials were supplied and verified to be correct.CIFS VFS: No username specified
Puzzling...
[SOLUTION]
The "smbfs" package was missing.
