During my tests with Devil Linux I ran across a strange problem that the CD burned from the ISO would not boot on 'some' machines.
1) Of course, the BIOS supported CD-ROM boot, and it wasn't a faulty drive, since I was able to boot Knoppix without problems.
2) I've tried burning the Devil Linux ISO to a CD-R (instead of a CD-RW), since some older drives have Problems reading them.
3) I checked the Docs for Devil Linux, and there I found a solution: Boot from a DOS floppy and start Devil Linux by using "loadlin.exe"
