Linpus network problem: Sometimes wireless just won't work..

[PROBLEM]
Those cute little Acer Aspire One netbooks... they're shiny, run Linux out of the box - and they're great, because they're easy to use.
Unfortunately, Acer is running Linpus - and I must admit, I'm not a great fan of that distro...
One major reason for that is, that it gives Linux a bad image. *sigh*
Just like in this case:
The Acer Aspire One netbook I'm having here is in it's original state. That's the way Acer delivered it - and every 2 out of 3 times, the wireless network isn't working. It's not displaying any other networks, the wifi-LED never goes on, etc...
Thanks to entries in the linuxquestions forum, here's a quick and dirty workaround:
Reboot afterwards and try again.
That simply removes some settings that were stored in the gconf/networking tree that seem to have made the network manager puke.
I'm really thinking about putting Ubuntu on that netbook... Friend of mine did so, and it's running like a charm!
Thanks Acer for nice pieces of hardware that run like a charm with GNU/Linux systems - and screw you Acer for working sooooo hard on hurting the image of GNU/Linux, by installing Linpus, and not even making sure that your own stuff works out of the box. WTF?
(Oh, btw: I'd really like to know how much you got paid for that "it's-sooooo-not-true" Windows Advertisement message on your netbook pages?)
Hm... maybe that should go into a separate bitching thread?

rm -rf ~/.gconf/system/networking
