Linux+Decklink+MLT: Profile is not compatible with decklink

Post by peter_b »

[PROBLEM]
I've installed a Blackmagic Decklink SDI card into one of our GNU/Linux video workstations. Driver installation and firmware update went without any problems.
Now I'd like to use "Shotcut" to play a testvideo over the Decklink's SDI out.

I selected the Philips PM5544 test image and selected the SDI output for preview:
Settings > Preview on SDI/HDMI > Decklink SDI
Nothing happened.

So I've closed Shotcut and opened it from the commandline, so I could see if there were errors.
Now, in the shell window I see the following message when I try to use the Decklink's SDI output:
[consumer decklink] Profile is not compatible with decklink.

[SOLUTION]
I was trying to playback PAL-SD, but it seems that the internal Decklink settings were still set to NTSC.
Use the Decklink's configuration tool (Applications > Multimedia > Decklink settings) to adjust this.
