Trying to install Ubuntu 14.04.3 on a new notebook: Lenovo S31e.
Having a hard time
Touchbad doesn't work.
Wireless doesn't work.
The installer behaves weird:
- no test-ubuntu vs install-ubuntu graphic option at boot
- throws an uncomfortable error message in the installer:
Error fsyncing/closing /dev/mmcblk0rpmb: Input/output error
On
Error fsyncing/closing/dev/sda: Input/output error (linuxquestions.org) a user says that for her it worked to simply continuing to press "retry". Doesn't work in my case.
Grrrrrrml

Although the error message kept re-appearing every reboot, I've finally managed to install Xubuntu 14.04.3!
The way that worked was to choose to "install ubuntu alongside windows".
Then, partitioning was done automatically and boot loader also works fine. Booting the newly install Ubuntu by default.
However, I would have preferred to use the whole disk for Xubuntu.
I've also posted the issue on Launchpad:
