[PROBLEM]
Running Xubuntu 12.04 (64bits) I have a USB audio headset that sometimes doesn't show up in pulseaudio after unplugging and replugging.
The USB device shows up on lsusb, but doesn't show up in the volume control of pulseaudio.

[SOLUTION]
Kill and restart pulseaudio:

$ killall pulseaudio
The service should automatically restart after a few seconds.
Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!
