Thunar: sftp/ssh access not showing files

Post by ^rooker »

[PROBLEM]
I'm accessing a remote computer's files in XFCE using Thunar as file browser using the "ssh://" prefix.
Works like a charm!

Every now and then however, if I connect to a remote machine that have stored credentials, the path is shown in the address bar - but no contents.
Hitting "refresh" button doesn't help :(

[SOLUTION]
In Thunar, hit "Ctrl+L" to get the input field for the location.
Keep the path to the sFTP (SSH) server, and add some filename/path that does not exist.

You'll get a strange error message then, but reverting the path back to a valid one finally gives you the prompt to re-enter your credentials.

Then it works again :)
Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!
