HowTo configure "Plank" dock in Xubuntu 16.04

Post by peter_b »

[PROBLEM]
I'm a long-time "Docky" user on XFCE (since 12.04).
But on 14.04 Docky crashed/disappeared most of the time and had to be restarted at least once every hour (or more) - so I'm checking out alternatives, because once you got used to Docky you're hooked :P

So I'm checking out "Plank" (v0.11.1):
But in the instructions in an article titled "How to Download, Install, and Configure Plank Dock in Ubuntu", it shows a configuration dialog - but the config-icon (known from Docky) isn't shown by default.

PS: Docky crashing/disappearing very often seems to be solved since 16.04.

[SOLUTION]
"Ctrl + Rightclick" on any Plank icon to get the "Preferences" submenu.

It's actually a nicer solution than just leaving the dock-icon displayed by default.
Enjoy!
