[Problem]
While installing SuSE on an SATA Disk, you probably ran into this Problem and used the same solution:

So, you have the kernel recognize your SATA HDD, can work on it in shell without problems and everything - but the installer still says there is no HDD!
[Solution]
Okay, that one is rather simple: Cancel the installer, and it will throw you back into a text-gui where you can choose "Start Installation" again. After reinitializing the installer, it also will recognize the HDD.

The autopartitioning of the Installer is rather silly ... better know what you're doing and use the expert mode for partitioning.
