I was trying to point an "On the Web" calendar in Novell's Evolution (Ubuntu 6.06) to an FTP URL (ftp://username@hostname/directory).
This completely fucked up the application: It didn't only crash, but it also could not be opened anymore. I had to remove all my calendars manually from behind by deleting the problematic entry in the gnome apps config file:
~/.gconf/apps/evolution/calendar/%gconf.xml
This caused evolution to start again, but as soon as I tried to access my previous calendars, it froze and died.
[SOLUTION]
Sorry for not delivering a REAL solution, but I tried the very first thing that came to my mind:
Reinstall these 2 packages:
Code: Select all
apt-get --reinstall install evolution evolution-data-server
