syntaxed email

Post by ^rooker »

I was thinking about inventing some special syntax for email addresses, so that "known" addresses are practically useless for spammers.

e.g.
address is: "myname@isp.com"
...and the current date is Mar 19th, 2007

But if someone wants to send me an email, he must use
myname_190307@isp.com

...because only THAT address will be valid on that day.

There are still millions of drawbacks on such an idea, and I know that this won't work with "strangers" or average users, but...
I'm posting it here in order not to forget it myself.
Jumping out of an airplane is not a basic instinct. Neither is breathing underwater. But put the two together and you're traveling through space!
