As the topic says. Kubuntu doesn't offer in the oacket manager. Why?

Could you provide a little more detail?

My first thought is, that your repository does not include what you are looking for.

That may well be. I'll try to solve it with Automatix. Trying to add a repository has already caused apt suicide. I could revive it though by deleting the offending line in the config file.

FireFox however did Java immediately. I assume that Firefox has java already "onboard".
As I seem to be more in love with Mozilla anyhow, I'll rather sick to that for serious surfing.
